Can You Hear Me Now?

by Patrick Gibson

Is it possible that President-elect Obama is not constitutionally qualified to hold the office? Is it even conceivable that a person could endure two years of campaigning and scrutiny only to have yet to reveal such a basic piece of documentation? Apparently it is possible, and apparently our President-elect is refusing to comply with good-faith efforts to verify his bona-fides.

Maybe one problem is that Obama wasn't really vetted or scrutinized so much over the last two years, now that I think of it. Yeah, there was the rumbling about Ayers that the MSM all but ignored. Then there was the firestorm over Rev. Jeremiah Wright. When passed that layup by the blogosphere, our champion McCain threw the ball in the bushes. While CNNMSNBCBS were busy getting tingles up their legs over the "historic" candidacy, someone forgot to check and see exactly what kind of history we were making anyway.

It's no secret that John McCain failed in his job assignment. His job was to win. To use the information that was already out there (largely thanks to our new Secretary of State Hillary Clinton) to put a stop to this messianic steamroller of a campaign.

It's no secret that the media failed us again. Their job is to investigate and inform. Is it too much to ask that someone, anyone in the mainstream media would, at some point and time, actually verify any of the contradictory and confusing stories surrounding our president-elect?

Here is some of what we have heard:

- His mother was in Kenya shortly before he was born and was not allowed to board a plane to the US.
- He was born in Hawaii. At two different hospitals.
- His aunt was in the delivery room in Kenya. His connections to that country run deep and personal. He even supported a relative there for President in 2007 (see pic)
- His grandmother says she was in Kenya when he was born as well.
- He traveled to Pakistan (Pah-kee-stan) in 1981. U.S. citizens were not allowed there at that time. What kind of passport was he on in 1981?
- He never had a US passport until his election to the Senate.
- He posted a birth certificate on his campaign website that has been alleged to be fraudulent. His camp has not responded publicly.
- The most famous case, the Berg case, was dismissed. Not for a material basis, though. The judge determined that Mr. Berg did not have the RIGHT to question Obama's citizenship.
- He has been sued in multiple jurisdictions regarding several allegations surrounding this matter. ALL OF THEM COULD BE DISMISSED SIMPLY BY PRODUCING A BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
- The media has ignored this since the beginning. Now people with an interest in this are being characterized as right-wing nutcases. Really no surprise there because, aside from that being what the media really does think about us on the right anyway, it is a defense mechanism. It is a lame attempt to cover their unprofessionalism and malfeasance.

Is Obama above the law?

For months many people have been asking questions. Just talk to Alan Keyes. Or Leo Donofrio. Or Phil Berg. It is time for these legitimate questions asked by serious men to be honored. It is time for the legal system to work. If Mr. Obama is constitutionally qualified for his position I am sure that those of us who have had questions will, once they are answered, accept and support his presidency. Until those questions are answered though, it SHOULD be a bumpy ride.

  1. I can't believe you are as stupid as can be to question whether Obama is a citizen. You are a moron.

  2. It is the last comment that proves exactly how this man got in office. No one is willing to question or imagine he is not who he tells us he is.
We are in for a bumpy ride indeed...

  3. Thanks bluesgirl, I couldn't agree more. It is exactly that kind of polemic viewpoint towards anyone who questions him that makes one wonder if BHO's camp has an interest in smearing and attacking ad hominem every source of query into his qualifications. Maybe the gameplan is to pee in the pool and then say we're all dirty.
